In one of my previous posts I wrote a recipe for fried bamboo.
2 times I've tried making it. 2 times I've burned the damned thing. The bamboo slices. Not enough water?? hmmm...
I'm beginning to actually crave for that bamboo dish my husband makes so well!!!
And bamboo is not that cheap, so it's not something I want to keep buying and trying to make. All though, practise makes perfect or something like that??
bamboo, bamboo...

Hi tinster,
I had the same problem trying to cook okra. I was trying to cook it too fast! It nearly burned every time, too!
I learned to SLOW down, cover it until it gets tender, then put in my corn meal and turn the heat up a little, to get it to crisp up.
Try it, maybe it'll work for bamboo, too!
Yes, that is exactly what I did, cooking too fast. Too hungry for bamboo??
Anyway, last weekend at my parents in law, I actually managed to make YUMMY spicy bamboo, and I know for a fact they were good, because my father in law ate most of them!! :P
